about

Following in the tradition of its predecessors, Divergent Paths Vol.3 brings fire for the floor, this time with a nod to the Breakstep sound of 2004-2006. Takomo, Aeolho and Lone Wolf share this release and present us a prime selection of heavy breaks and sick bass.

Finnish duo Takomo starts things off with the massive "We Don't Know". They do, however, actually know quite well. How to make filthy, authentic Breakstep to smash up the soundsystem! Writhing, filtered basslines are complemented by distorted 808s and mashed-up breaks to produce a beast of a tune. Berlin’s Aeolho, in anticipation of his artist EP forthcoming on Paradise Lost, brings us "Black Fish Don’t Jump", working the beats with his crisp production, ensuring that even if the fish don’t jump, those on the dancefloor will. Lone Wolf wraps up the 3rd edition of the Divergent Paths series in eclectic style with "Fire Of Dawn" - an in-your-face, epic workout that draws influence from raw organic live drumming and widescreen cinematic DrumnBass alike.

Paradise Lost is your purveyor of epic breaks this month. You’re welcome.
