Lurking beneath the surface for the past year, gathering admirers and a solid reputation for his darkside murkstep, Tallan is poised to break out, starting with his debut on Paradise Lost, the "Guardian EP", featuring 4 tracks of heavy, minimal darkness belonging in every dungeon-stepper's private arsenal.

From minute one we go down the rabbit hole, with "Guardian" bringing tense, claustrophobic vibes with its repetitive vocals, sharp snares and low-end badness. Bleak as all, and you'll be loving it! "Before You Speak" continues the assault on your mental well-being with mindbending looping pads, evil, all-consuming low-end and a muggy, growling bassline. This might well be a serial killer's soundtrack, beautiful restless tension runs thick throughout. "East" brings more of the dirtyness with some melody to boot, but only enough to get you off-guard before thrusting you back into the blackness. And as if these three original darkside bombs weren't disconcerting enough, Twisted and Rakoon deliver the proverbial cherry-on-top with their "Guardian Remix" - a maddening, percussive affair that reworks the original into a convoluted frenzy that is guaranteed to light the dance on fire!

All in all, you probably won't play Tallan’s Guardian EP at your wedding and probably not for your friend suffering through depression, but if you - like us - have a weakness for the dark side, then join us and despair...
