about

It's been a couple of years since Droid Sector's last release on Paradise Lost and the Aussie badman has been quite busy, with releases on Subway and Terminal Dusk and his own Requiem Audio, among others, solidifying his reputation as a leader in dark & techy beats & bass.

We're excited to welcome him back into the fold by way of the "Slenderman EP", showcasing his immense talent in the dark realm of Dubstep. The title tune "Slenderman" is a pure slice of horror-step, with grizzly reece-lines punctuating razor-sharp beats and bringing a full-on menacing atmosphere, resulting in the musical equivalent of the psycho-terror flick "Jacob's Ladder". Next up, "Obscured" takes a more stripped-down approach, enlisting the help of Paradise Lost stalwarts The SubDivision. With emphasis on a funky b-line and clever percussion, it retains the darkside feel present throughout the release by use of haunting atmospheric constructions. "Lifesigns" displays Droid Sector's affinity for dirty basslines, while "Cleanse The Universe" (teaming Droid Sector with dark soldier TZR) convinces with innovating percussive features and a simple, yet effective acid line accompanying the second drop. Both these tracks ramp up the sci-fi tech-fest sentiments while keeping consistent with the sinister, foreboding vibe of the entire release.

Being a busy DJ himself, Droid Sector ensures that the "Slenderman EP" not only brings terror to the hearts of men, but is also a treat for the dancefloor massive.
