about

For our 50th release (yeah, it took us 13 years... don't judge us!) our recent EP's get raided for in-demand ear candy and then VIP'ed for your listening pleasure by the artists themselves on VIP01. The producers look back on the tracks with a bit of perspective about what they might have changed if they had made them again. A psychological study, maybe? Perhaps, but for sure a more dancefloor vibe on these than couch therapy or mental masturbation!

Paradise Lost's different flavors are on offer here, with Ahmad, Bruno Sanchez, Dreadmaul and The Next delivering 4 instances of heavy.

There's just something about Incubation VIP, from Ahmad, that transfixes one's attention. It's a subtle and deep track but also packs such a punch. This VIP is the perfect entry to the EP, setting the tone and prepping the listener for Dreadmaul's onslaught of punishing breaks and bass on the Dusty Breaks VIP. The Next brings his MPC production techniques on his revisit of We Program VIP, a wonky track that's ultra unique. Finishing up, it's the Bruno Sanchez revisit of Claw Wing Tooth VIP, where things get even more lo-fi and dusty, just like an old horror B-movie (Hammer fans, unite!) but with twice the growling distorted reece bass.

Enjoy and we'll see you back here for VIP02!
